Hydros Foundation at the Geneva Book Fair

At the 29th Geneva Book and Press Fair, Hydros Foundation will present a preview of its first book, The Exceptional History of the Little Cup, and invite you to experience the legendary LITTLECUP race in Geneva next September.

Preview launch of the book The Exceptional History of the Little Cup

Published by Éditions de La Martinière, this beautiful illustrated book traces the history of this sporting and technical challenge, launched on Long Island in 1961, and relates the fascinating spirit of the LITTLECUP, this international competition which many regard as a testing ground for the America’s Cup. The teams share their insights, construction techniques, calculations and secrets. A real invitation to trace the steps of those who have taken part in this race (Philippe Stern, Steve Clark, Duncan MacLane and Franck Cammas), the book outlines the wealth of technology and high-precision performance offered by C Class vessels but also explores the design of these catamarans that are considered cutting-edge in terms of speed. Written and illustrated by François Chevalier, a qualified naval architect and a highly regarded expert in the field of high-performance yachts and prestigious races, this publication gives us an insight - thanks to numerous previously unpublished archive documents and photographs as well as other design plans, drawings and maps - into the enthralling human and sporting adventure of these sailing boat races where a genuine spirit of fair play prevails.
