Philosophy

FOSTERING MARITIME EFFICIENCY

The Hydros Foundation is an accredited non-profit, public-interest organisation.
Its aim is to encourage technological innovation to meet the energy and environmental challenges facing
the nautical and maritime industry and to raise the awareness of these issues
among professionals, students, opinion leaders and the general public. 

 

To promote innovation, the Hydros Foundation offers an educational ecosystem within which innovative ideas and key players are brought together to foster the creation of initiatives, and supports the development of solutions that will optimise the energy efficiency of boats – from maritime transport through to yachting and competitive sailing.

    Hydrocontest 2017

    Incubating the boats of tomorrow

    Buoyed by the success of its first two editions and the growing interest it has been generating, the international contest which consists in designing and building the most energy-efficient boat prototypes possible will be back for a whole new edition in Saint-Tropez from 4 to 10 September 2017.

    Buoyed by the success of its first two editions and the growing interest it has been generating, the international contest which consists in designing and building the most energy-efficient boat prototypes possible will be back for a third season in Lausanne, Switzerland from 24 to 31 July 2016.

    Testing Ground for the Boats of the Future

    For the second Hydrocontest, the same values will be upheld and the programme and organization improved to raise the level of this great competition. The Hydrocontest is a student competition aiming to provide practical solutions to the energy problem linked to maritime transport, the world's 5th greatest polluter.
